Samburu national reserve
Samburu national reserve is Kenya’s park located in the semi arid central region of Kenya. The park is served by a seasonal river Ewaso ng’iro. Even though the park at times suffer from prolonged dry seasons that scorches the vegetation, the park still holds a high population of wildlife. Other than Maasai Mara and Amboseli, Samburu must be the other park you can learn on the adoptive skills of wildlife with changing seasons. The park host unique and rare varieties of wildlife like: gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra , oryx and reticulated giraffe;all three big cats, the lion, cheetah and African leopard , elephant, Cape buffalo and hippopotamus, olive baboon , warthogs, Grant’s gazelle, Kirk’s dik-dik , impala, black rhinoceros.
Aberdare national park
Right in front of the Aberdare ranges ;and out of the relief rains caused by the ranges;Aberdare forest is formed. The region is home to some of the popular wildlife species associated with wet climate. These include: lion, leopard , elephant, East African wild dog , giant forest hog, bushbuck, mountain reedbuck, waterbuck, Cape buffalo , suni , side-striped jackal , eland, duiker , olive baboon , black and white colobus monkey , and Sykes monkey . The mistshrounded ranges have got a piece of the greatest epics in history. It is in this forest that a function Mau Mau guerrillas hide in the struggle for independence. The outfit was constituted of former african soldiers in WWII and civilian recruits who formed one of the worst rebellion in the British colonial history. Treetops lodge in Aberdare national park prides itself as the lodge that hosted Queen Elizabeth just before her crowning. In 1952 when King George VI died then princess Elizabeth was on a short trip to Kenya and lived in the popular lodge.
Hell’s gate national park
Hell’s gate national park sits on the floor of the great riftvalley, neighboring Lake Naivasha. The park has some of the most beautiful volcanic topography with gorges,cliffs and lava rocks. The region has one of the world’s highest geothermal capacity with a geothermal station located within the park. Due to the geothermal activities, the park has hot spring and geysers. There is a natural spa in the park.
Fischer tower, a 25 meters high plug offer the best experience for rock climbers. A guided walk along the Hell’s gate Gorge inside the park must also interest you.
Besides, the park has a considerable wildlife population. The park also host the rare bearded vultures. Hell’s gate is a park where hiking and biking is least restricted.
Maasai Mara is a national reserve in the southern riftvalley region of Kenya. It is the most popular Park in the country. Maasai Mara holds the highest population of wildlife in Kenya. The spectacular wildebeeste migration across Mara river capture the glimpse of many travelers annually. The migration happens between the month of may and September with July and August being the best month to watch the event.
Diani beach & Watamu
